Terrible Poet

Maybe I'm a terrible poet,
And quite simply-
I just did not know it…

Nevertheless,
It shall never be said-

I did not sing like a bird
My verses to the world!

Nor that I did not play the flute for you to dance,
or a dirge for your mourning…

May not be the key or beat you like…

Alas,
I shall sing to you anyway.

Home is where the heart is, they say…
May our verses help sing humanity home.
