cruel tide

grief is such a cruel tide,
yet i find reasons
for heartfelt gratitude—

flipping through old cookbooks &
magazines,

those hugsmaking
everything better...

as memory lives,
so they too carry on.

you'll always know it's sting;
some days more others less.
take heart, you're hidden under a wing—
the comforting comes for mourning.
just one reason more, for my beholdeness...

Praying for those that grieve.
