Strength in numbers?
A bust?
Two parts make a whole?
Can a dove fly with one wing?
Will our soliloquies align
as the birds sing?
I don't know,
I guess we'll see...
Hope abides,
that's all I know.

I'm a people watcher. I've been watching the divide between us humans grow for sometime now.
I wrote about my realization of our growing divide and waking from it in 'Internet of Things (It's all Energy)'
Did our polarization start in 2014? 2016?
Sooner than that?
I can't be sure.
Maybe we're hard pressed to pin-point a "this is the date everything changed" on the calendar.
Neither side would likely agree on the "event" that started it all, but each would have an egregious action to point to for a "but you did this." Who knows how far this would go back and forth?
Maybe to our beginning?
How can anyone be certain?
For inquiring minds, you can get an indication of where I stand on things by reading my story, 'Through the Narrow Gate', published in the New Literary Society on Medium.
(Spoiler: I'm in the middle. Turns out, as I learned from personal experience, if you're not lined up the correct way as you approach a gate, you will not get through the gate without damage.)
As goings on in our society have rocked along, I've witnessed both sides proclaim "We are One!" in solidarity with each other on their side alone.
And it's true, we are one. What I wonder is if anyone really means it?
When they proclaim, "we are one" do they just mean their prospective sides or are they genuinely considering the human family in its entirety?
I have no way to know. I'm just observing. Not judging. I can't judge the internal thoughts and intentions of another human. I can make assumptions, however, I stopped speculating on current events and other human's thoughts along time ago. It's not a good use of my energy. It's not a good use of anyone's energy.
Just because something is true in someone's mind doesn't mean it's true for another person.
In order to reveal a full picture of current events, personally, I find it necessary to read news sources from both sides. Identify and discard bias to reveal the who, what, when, and where the best I can.
Ascertaining what another person is thinking without resorting to assumption?
I can't. I'm not a mind reader.
Assumptions are rarely (if ever) accurate.
Here is what I do know:
We are One. All of us. Indivisible at our core.
