pendulum swinging
to and fro-
energies
ebb and flow
knowing thyself
in all eventuality
Occam's razor puts forward
things will work out
collectively
navigation implement
most beneficial—
compass in hand
a must
lean into light,
be strong of mentality
it'll be alright

survey consciousness (published yesterday January 29th, 2026) was originally penned Jan 22 2025 and published on X. survey duality was written a little over nine months later. It wasn't a planned continuation of survey consciousness, instead it was a happy discovery.
This poem, like the one I shared yesterday and referenced above ties into how I see the world.
We experience dark challenging times in our lives individually and collectively.
Can how we carry ourselves and navigate the world around us influence individual and collective outcomes? Surely it does.
When I consider duality, I see two parts of the whole. Don't we all have a good and a bad side?
Don't we all hold light and dark within us?
I believe we do.
The dark, itself is not explicitly bad and the light is not exclusively good. In my poem, What Shape Does the Darkness Have? (Ode to a Grecian Urn), I elaborate on this thought in verse.
What if life is about making peace between the two? What if making peace with in ourselves and this duality makes us whole? What if this brings peace to our homes and communities? Countries?
Dare I say, world?
What if the simplest path to peace is found within ourselves?
I wish I had a magic wand or secret formula for gentler navigation.
All I know to do is to walk as humbly as I can.
Thanks for reading this far.
